The rats were also strong enough to actually unplugged this from the engine compartment too! Amazingly strong rats we have here in East Texas
Wire cut clean here...no gnaw marks here!
The adjuster actually accused my kids of maybe doing this. All of the interior lights had been torn out. He suggested that sometimes kids leave "love gifts" in the car and that we may just had not noticed this beforehand!! The nerve!!
There are about four or five side swipes like this all over the exterior. The front bumper is loose as well as damaged....Just wanted to post some pictures of the damage done to our car. Most of the damage to it was in under the hood. Four major wires were cut to the engine, including the main wiring harness, that was completely destroyed. Of course the insurance adjuster is claiming that it looks like rats chewed it and so therefor is not a direct result of vandalism. In that case, he explains, we will have to file a separate claim before we can begin the restoration. I think the pictures speak for themselves and obviously there is no way rats could do that much damage. So needless to say, we feel like we may have fight on our hands! We pray not and know God is in control but my rental car is due back in a few days and I may be out a vehicle until this all gets worked out. Very frustrating and disappointing. The violation that you feel when someone steals something can quickly turn into anger when you realize that you were not only violated when they took the car but all of the mess they leave for you to clean up when they are done with their "joy ride". It has been a good lesson for our boys as they can see the direct result of consequences to actions!!
Please pray for a quick resolution for us and that we show everyone involved the grace and mercy that can only come from our Lord!!

How terrible - have they forgotten you are the victim??! I mean, seriously, even if rats did chew through it, the insurance company needs to pay (without extra work for you!). We'll be praying for God's grace!
i would have been like, "ARE YOU CRAZY? How stupid do you think i am?" the audacity of some people. argh.
I will pray! When our car was stole and vandalized it was an easy claim, because rats can't spell or hold a can of spraypaint.
However, I had a guy hit my car once and his insurance company tried to blame me for not anticipating that he was going to hit me and thus avoiding a collision.
However, the officer cited him so the insurance company had to pay.
